Very nice entry there! Ah the armor of God. To me it's about satan and his minions. You have to really have faith to resist temptations you know are bad for you, and expand your knowledge on Him and the word of God so you remain under His protection. One thing I didn't see, and so I bring it up, is to protect yourself from—yourself. We are our own worst enemies! We can be self-destructive in habits and relationships, greedy, petty, and we can also bury ourselves in guilt. He so doesn't want that, and He says so throughout the bible. (I am not much of a quoter of scripture, so people can always take what I say as truth, or not, respectfully ) When in the presence of bad intentions or downright evil, I remind myself that I am a child of God and believer in Jesus, and I have the not just the right to be free of their influence, but the power through Jesus' name to thwart any harm. It gives me more confidence. I do also think we can easily be mislead because we think we are so insignificant as to not deserve their help or interference—but that's exactly what we have to fight against, at some point, because that's a negative in a wholly positive situation So when they say take up the sword, it's kinda fitting... and the armor of God encompasses all that. ~~~~~ Umm hello? I've seen you around. I'm Adrie. Nice to meet you! I guarantee I won't always make sense in here, and I will come and go, and I might have ideas (no, I totally will) you may not have ever heard before, but I am strong in my faith and believe everyone comes to Him in their own ways. In fact, I spent many years researching faith in and of itself really, and am self-taught (and a tiny bit more) from the King James Bible, the Concordance, and the Apocrypha. Haven't read nearly enough of them! I most enjoy taking translations apart by going back to the original words and their definitions in the various Greek, Caldean, and Hebrew languages, without speaking or knowing them. The Concordance helps with that, as I am no scholar! And I can't remember scripture for beans. I've got some deficits with the memory. However, the Lord helps me. An.awful.lot. |
