You could ADD a nurse and/or decorator, Adherennium. Yeah, I'm having trouble with plot twists, myself. I've got several subplots, but not a lot of twists in them. I even have been reading through the Adoption Society threads on the NaNo site. I've added lots more ideas, but not really any more "twists."
