Thanks for this review. I picked this book up in a charity shop a couple of years ago, but I'm yet to read it. After your review, I don't think I'll put it to the top of my list. I agree with you that characters need to have something redeeming about them, even if it is that they have sense of humour, they are charismatic. Something. I struggle with books where I don't connect with the main characters.
