One of the mafia big shots covered in the documentary was a guy called Vincent "The Chin" Gigante who escaped law enforcement for decades because he so convincingly played the nut case that even the psychiatrists believed him.

My MMC's father, Vincenzo, tried to catch him already then... and 30 years later, MMC Vincent enters the family as "Il Sfregio", The Scar (as he has a facial scar he got from his deployment on 9/11).

The documentary was Mafia Killers with Colin McLaren. McLaren was with the NYPD and three years undercover busting the Five Families.
