I've put off on answering this because I was taking the time to reread a lot of the story, but now that Seuzz is back, I was inspired to answer this now. I've always really liked the potential of the Keyserling University. Carson once compared it to the Miskatonic University in "Picking a Brain the Old-Fashioned Way" , and as a massive fan of Call of Cthulhu, I quite agree. While I doubt there's a Henry Armitage running the Keyserling Library, ever since the mentions Imaj made of the hidden laboratory in the library, I've been very interested in seeing what other secrets the Keyserling family might have left, and I've always been very disappointed that "Return to the Scene of a Crime" wasn't taken further. Carson as an associate, and the Stellae on to the mysteries of the Keyserlings always struck me as having a great deal of potential. I'm also very intrigued by the reactions to both Jessica Garner and Maria Vasquez to learning about the magic of the Libra in "Invalid Chapter" and "Maria's Crush" respectively. Jessica pretty much instantly deciding to use the masks to hook up with Brownie is both funny and makes me wonder if she has some other game going on. I absolutely loved the way Maria starts acting when she put on Will's mind band, and I want to see of it. I also gotta wonder what her game is too. I do wonder how "Mugged by Magic" might go, because Seth Javits is definitely no Steve Patterson, and I don't see him being as clever with the masks as Steve was. Finally, I'm interested in a few of the mutants of Saint X. One of the things Rugal posted a few months ago about Sherri Watson admittedly intrigued me, because as Rugal had said, she's a fair bit younger than the majority of the characters of this story, and there's a couple different ways a she and Will could interact with each other that he wouldn't with somebody his own age, so I quite like the potential there. I'm also mildly curious about Mathilde Ambard, just because I want to know how her actual personality contrasts to what I imagine was JM's less than stellar impression of her in "French for Beginners" |
