2/4/23 Finished story one of three in this book (The Wishing Quilt) last night and it was so good. I loved it! I expected to, because I love Jodi Thomas's writing. I hope the other two stories are half as good. I wanted to get my notes down on the first one so I didn't confuse it with the other stories. First of all, I love the heroine. I loved the theme of the wishing quilt and the details shared throughout the story and I really loved how the heroine's life came together near the end. There was more action than I would have expected from this kind of story and that made it even better for me. I know the whole "cousin" thing wasn't believable but it was fun and interesting and made the story even more entertaining for me. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09MZTMX9N/?coliid=I1G6KZ8VFIRT1N&colid=2VMX86KZK6OS3&... 2/5/23 "It's three stories in one book. The first story was fantastic. Just my kind of thing. The second I finished today. It was okay. Could have been great.. but just didn't get there. I loved that the heroine was a doctor who specialized in helping rodeo bullfighters. *Smile* That was unusual. And that her grandmother found love despite some trying circumstances and taught her how to seize the day." (Copied from post below so the whole review could be together.) Added 2/6/23 Finished the book last night. The third story was good. Not great, but good. Better than the second. So the first story gets an "A," the second a "C," and the third a "B." ![]() I bought this book with some Amazon credit I had, knowing that I love Jodi Thomas and even if I didn't like the other stories, it would be worth it just for hers. And it was. I will probably re-read the Jodi Thomas one someday, but I doubt I will ever want to re-read the other two (Lori Wilde wrote the second story and Patience Griffin wrote the third). |
