A warm welcome to our newbies; come meet new and not-so-new members of Writing.Com! |
Howdy, I'm an older gentleman (the latter term used quite loosely) and I was told by a writing instructor about 45 years ago that I had creative talents and I should explore writing. I've never forgotten that comment but I've never found the drive or found a glue sticky enough to keep me in my chair. So once again, the idea has come to the front of my overly cluttered mind and I'm trying my best to pursue it. But, as with many beginning writers (and probably many established writers as well), what do I write about? I don't have a James Bond lifestyle and every day is not filled with excitement and full of things that would be of interest to anyone. I'm pursuing becoming better at photography and I am hoping that I can mix the two threads, hopefully find some photographs I'm happy with (I am admittedly too critical of my own work) and be able to get them published and have short articles about the image. That sounds like a great idea, right? Now, to put the thoughts into pictures and words... At the moment, I'm staring at a blank page with a blank mind. Suggestions are welcome! "Just do it" doesn't work, I'm a stubborn old cuss. Tim |
