Your entries here never expire so you can always come back later and fill in the holes. The only REAL problem with waiting is that contests close and so it's harder to find something to fill in, but even that's not a HUGE deal. Your worst case scenario is that you take so long, I end up dying before you get your rewards! But other than that, it's all good.
