Starts Oct. 1st! A month-long novel-planning challenge with prizes galore. |
I'm not struggling too much with the kid's name, especially after I realized she could name him Nicholas if he's a boy. The message the cowboy is delivering is "Nickel" or "It was Nickel." But he misunderstood the dying man. It was supposed to be "Nicole." Thus the kid will be named Nicole or Nicholas after someone named Nicole that the mom really admired but couldn't remember the name of. I'm thinking it was a woman who worked at the orphanage she was in as a young kid. It was horrible but one woman was kind to her. She eventually got adopted but never forgot the woman, though she did forget her name. But she wanted to name her kid that. Her husband went on a quest to find the name and did, but was going to die before he could tell her. The cowboy doesn't know all the back story about why the message is so important. He just agrees and feels obligated and gets run out of town around the same time, so he has nothing better to do. Lol But I might use that link for the cowboy's name. Thanks! And be sure to check out my challenge
