I have taken part in NaNo for a few recent years but I usually don't make it to the 50,000 word mark. One year I got really close. I managed over 40,000 but couldn't quite make it before the month ended. Last year, I did made it and have a mostly finished rough first draft though the ending chapters need a lot more work than some of the others.
ooo dragons. There is another member on here who would probably find that interesting. Dragonfish loves dragon stories. You could work on scenes if they ever fit in the creature feature contest prompt. "Creature Features" [13+]. I don't know what she will do for the next round but I've entered a few times, including with a dragon character once.
I don't know yet this year about NaNo. I've got so many novels started or ready for edits that I really want to do something to help get me closer to publishing. Writing another new first draft of a novel may not be the best option. We'll see once we get closer to November for that decision.
