Hey, Averren, I forgot to welcome you as the new owner of this forum when I posted my poem yesterday I apologise for that. So I'm welcoming you now.
This is such a wonderful place for people to celebrate everyone who has belonged to the military family of the world. It is an important group to continue, and I am thankful that you chose to take it one. I'm sure you will receive a whole bunch of support and people taking part.
In the UK, the D-Day celebrations in Normandy and across Europe, Canada and the U.S., were fantastic yesterday. Veterans who fought and lost their friends to the war eighty years ago went to Normandy to commemorate those they lost and celebrate those who survived. It was an emotional day. There are only a handful of veterans from World War II left now. I think they said the youngest is 98. I can only imagine what they went through. But I am truly grateful to them.
