Question of the Day!

EVERY holiday... as long as I cook & bake.


Nah, joke. But different than Americans, Germans don't have a holiday for every fart they let off. We're pretty boring compared to you.


Okay, there a re few classics in Germany like "Kartoffelsalat mit Würstchen" (potato salad with wieners) and TONS of cookies (vanillekipferl, cinnamon stars, spekulatius, etc. ) for Christmas

or

Fish, Lamb or "7. Schwäbische Maultaschen"  (called "Herrgottsbscheißerle" = "God Cheaters") for Easter.

With the latter the monks in Swabia (parts of Bavaria & Baden Württemberg in the German South) "cheated" God, because the meat, which was forbidden to eat during Fasting between Ash Wednesday & Easter, was hashed with veggies and "hidden" in the pasta shell.


But otherwise...


...the Feast is as yummy as YOU make it, independent of the – or any – holiday.
