So today, we are working on our antagonist profiles. Every story needs conflict, and our antagonists are the embodiment of that conflict in our stories.
Some antagonists are straight up villains, being the embodiment of evil. Others are still antagonists, but they have other layers to them, and they both have their place in fiction. Some characters who are considered layered and might have redeeming qualities at first might still be the embodiment of evil.
The point is: there are so many ways to create a fantastic antagonist.
So now for some questions: who are your favorite antagonists and why? Do you prefer antagonists who are evil, or do you prefer something else entirely? Do you have villains and/or antagonists in your story who don't fall into the conventional wisdom surrounding the bad guy?
