Motivate yourself to conquer your goals this week! Post on Monday; update us on Friday! |
It's been a good couple of weeks (at least writing-wise) since I came out of my writing slump. So, I've decided to ramp up my goals this week. It's probably stupid. I should aim for consistency instead of risking breaking my neck, but I want to push myself, see if I can do a bit better. Also, I might be working home a lot this week, due to parking space renovation at work, which should give a little extra free time (I don't mind saving 1,5 hours commute every other day). Right, here goes, in more or less random order: Writing related goals Write/outline/edit every day: Same number one priority as always. I need to stay consistent. Edit "In the Darkest of Space...": I have and old-ish short story that I should really get around to editing. Do a review: I'm starting to get back into a habit of reviewing more regularly. I need to keep that going. Be active on Codex: Vauge sort of goal. Ideally, I will do a post on my author thread and participate in forum discussions. Though, I've been away for a while, so if I can just catch up on discussions, I'll be okay with that. Submit stories: I haven't submitted anything doing my writing slump, so I need to catch up on my backlog. I don't think I got more than one or two rejections in that period, though, so it should be doable. Write a piece for the Stupefying Stories competition: Yah, Stupefying Stories decided to restart their Pete Wood flash fiction challenge. That earned me a couple of publications earlier this year, so I'm definitely aiming for getting another piece submitted there. Other goals which may be vaguely related to writing Do vocal exercises: Same as always. I usually do these while driving to/from work, so working from home means I probably won't do them every day. Still, I hope to get in a couple of exercises during the week. Get exercise: Again, a very vague goal, but one or two solid runs/training sessions plus 10-20 minutes light exercises in the in-between days, and I will be happy. Eat healthier: This is going to be tough, December being what it is. And my wife just got sent a massive box of chocolate and wine by her employer, so... yeah. Good luck to me. Continue work for our local SF&F con: I finished my assignments for the con last week, but people were quick to reply, so now I have some follow-up work. Shouldn't take long to complete, though. Well, that was a much longer list than usual. Hopefully, it will push me to do a little extra. Though, I don't imagine I will reach all of my goals this week. |
