Hello, "Oldies" and fellow Newbies (and everybody in between)! I had a Writing.com membership years ago, and I just loved it. I still remember it quite fondly. I let my membership lapse because life kind of took over. I experienced many relationship changes, starting with a divorce; my mother, whom I was caring for at the time, died; and I set my sights on earning the prerequisites for and getting accepted into physical therapy school. That last process took many years, but eventually I did get accepted and I've been a practicing PT for over 3 years now. I also have had the good fortune of obtaining a prescription for a pill (although I prefer to call it "the capsule" instead of "the pill") that actually vibrates after I swallow it. Yes, you read that right. And although it has not fixed my chronic GI issues, it has helped to ease my stubbornly uncooperative gut. In the meantime, I've followed somewhat of an unusual path. At the start of 2025, when things in America are promising to become only more tumultuous, I found renewed purpose in deciding to devote myself to writing about my health and life journey. I've sought some help from ChatGPT, as well, with recording my thoughts (often while I am running on the treadmill), generating rough drafts that I can use as a kind of raw material to further edit, develop, and refine my story, organizing and generating topics/ideas, and, simplest of all, to help prevent me from getting mired in self doubt and writer's block and just keep generating more story. I figure Writing.com might be a good place for me to start posting what I've written in order to get some honest and helpful feedback. Here is my first item number: Item #2334724 Thank you all for reading! Thank you, Writing.com, for existing! Carpageothe3rd (and, I believe, the original!) |
