You don't need to send GPs to those who review you, but you can, especially if the item was a long item. However, the site likes to give points to you if this was the first time that, shall we say, user John Smith reviewed you. Likewise, you get points if Tim Jones reviewed you. But, no more from John Smith - unless they personally send them to you.
