A month-long writing challenge, using The Beatles' songs as inspiration. |

I've seen a couple of Beatles tribute bands live and two or three more in videos. Have you seen any of these tributes? What was your impression of them? We were also fortunate in 2019 to have main section seats not far from the stage for a concert called "The Monkees present The Mike and Micky Show." It feature Mike Nesmith and Micky Dolenz along with family and friends, and was a pretty amazing show. The Monkees was an attempt to do for the U.S. what The Beatles did for Britain, and they were an excellent band too. Perhaps, not as world-changing as the Beatles but with some powerful tunes and remarkable credits. As for Beatles tributes, the best I've seen was a group called "Shout!" We saw them live in a park gazebo. I was under the impression they were (are?) a shoe-string budget band but they were obviously Beatles fans through-and-through, and did some amazing effects as they recreated the Beatles' career from the early days through Let It Be. They quickly changed costumes, props, and even hairstyles between segments, and their sound was spot-on authentic. ![]() ![]() ============================== "Humility is easily remembered, but not so easily learned." ---Shawn C.
