A month-long writing challenge, using The Beatles' songs as inspiration. |
I agree that Paul had the most ambition, musically, post-Beatles. Maybe, through the whole of the band's success also. I always got the impression George was about the music itself, and creating music, crafting new and different sounds. John was about leading his group and, in the beginning, having success and fame. He also wanted to push himself and the music he could create as the 60s turned into the 70s. Paul just wanted to play music. I think he needed the band possibly the most of all of them. I think he enjoyed to make music as part of a collaborative effort. And then Ringo, I think, was just happy to be a part of something so huge. At first, anyway. I got the impression he was just happy to be a part of it. I could be wrong. Those are just my feelings. By the way, S 🤦, very impressive collection. You've given me inspiration of what to listen to on Apple Music. I don't know the songs you mentioned by Ringo, George and Paul. I agree that 'Jealous Guy' is John at his best, though. I read in 'John & Paul: A Love Story In Songs' that it's believed this song is not only about Yoko, but about Paul, also. I like that. It makes sense. ![]() |
