Where all you have to do is read books to receive awesome prizes. |
I need to do a regular product review of this but it might be a while, so I thought doing a review here would be good so I have notes for that and have another month's minimum done. ![]() "Preparing to Meet Jesus" by Anne Graham Lotz and Rachel-Ruth Lotz Wright (two R's in her first name ![]() This was a fantastic read for me. Some of the imaginative storytelling was a bit over the top, but other than that, it was just perfect. It covered 21 traits / ways to prepare for Jesus Christ's second coming and centered around the story of Rebekah (also known as Rebecca) in the Old Testament (when she was prayed for, and found, to be the bride of Isaac) and it showed a parallel with these traits that were commendable in her to how we (Christians) should be living in preparation for Jesus Christ's return. I really liked the modern life storytelling of Anne and Rachel-Ruth from their own lives too. This book was a gift with donation to the Billy Graham Evangelical Association. I think Anne is his daughter and Rachel-Ruth is his granddaughter. For sure, Rachel-Ruth is Anne's daughter. As with all of the books I've received from them (they give a book most months with any size donation, and it's something my Mom loved and wanted me to do so I continue to do, both because I enjoy the books, and because it honors her), it has the path to salvation at the back. So if you have one of these books in your home, and someone wants to know more, you have a quick reference visual aid handy at the back of the book. Online, I tend to refer people to www.peacewithgod.net which I think is sponsored by the same Association, but staffed by volunteers who receive background checks and then training and are available 24/7 for chatting. I like that when I refer people there, I know they can get in contact with someone anytime, no matter than time zone. They also have a nice question and answer library. Though for that, I tend to refer people to www.gotquestions.org. Anyway, I own the paper copy of this book, but it got water damaged, so I'm planning to buy the ebook and go through my highlights and then recycle it. I would have liked to have passed it on to someone, but my library drilled into me that water damage means the book will eventually have mold and a lot of people (me included) are severely allergic to mold. This might get added to the list of books I'd like to read yearly. It was a very uplifting read to me and had lots of great reminders. The conclusion made me think, "yes!" And I might have said to myself, "wow, that's powerful." That last paragraph was a great call to action and summary of the book. I'll be giving it five stars for the average. Definitely glad I read it. |
