I just read a book (unrelated to this topic) that basically said the same thing over and over again. It annoyed me, and I almost gave up a number of times. However, to reach the end of it felt like a victory of sorts.

It's a shame you didn't enjoy this book. It sounds like sound advice, though. Especially the 'don't edit too soon' part. That is paramount.
