User question: Can I log my sprint later?
QUESTION:
This question was posted in scroll by a sprinter, and I'm answering here so every sprinter can benefit from the clarification.

hey guys, is it ok to register your details for the sprints after the fact, like the following day and backdate it?

i ask because my back is playing up which is forcing me to go to bed, and with that i may have trouble with registering my words. i do plan on doing as many of the sprints as i can, but i don't know about registering them tonight, and i want to confirm i can still register them later, when i can get back to my computer

ANSWER:
The short answer is, no, you can't log your sprint later. The reason is fairness to other sprinters, who expect to find out where they placed in the sprint, and reasonably don't want to find out later that they lost points somehow. If you log your words after the sprinters have reviewed the sprint results, it could change the standings. Please log your sprint results immediately after the end of the sprint.

Even in the case of technical difficulties (for example, your name isn't on the form to submit wordcounts yet), sprinters are still required to report their wordcounts in the forum until technical support can resolve the problem, so the other sprinters can see immediately where they will ultimately place for the sprint.

As soon as that timer goes off, please immediately report your word count, even before moving on to the next sprint.

Thanks for asking great questions!
