Nowhere near enough. We have been living in an interconnected world for two decades; if adults don't realise that what goes on the Internet is forever, if they don't get that freedom of speech in the USA is not covered in other countries and does not cover hate speech or speech designed to harm, if they do not understand that there is a reality beyond the Internet, then they deserve all the negative consequences that come to them.
I think adults posting rubbish as facts, harassing others and being dicks online are huge contributing factors to the break-down of societal norms as we see them. And because they are doing this, it is being mirrored in their children who then see this behaviour as normal, they subconsciously model negative behaviour patterns.
We have just banned social media for under 16s here and coupled it with cyber-education in high schools; it will be interesting to see how the next generation who grow up without social media will adapt when confronted by it.
