The story has some potential but the problem I have with it is that it is a bit grandiose. The characters seem too ancient and powerful. The myriad number of races with supernatural abilities can be a tad confusing. My thinking is that simpler when it comes to fantasy stories is best. At least in the beginning. People like to be fairly gently immersed into epic storylines. KISS rules the day.
