"A Problem Page For All!"

Okay, Ellie, since you're over 21, you're a mature student, therfore you have the option of applying through what's called 'UCAS Extra' like I did. As long as you have the UCAS forms sent by May 31st (the uni had to have them by June 12th) you'll have a shot at being accepted. Plus Bangor is mucho mature student friendly and takes preference over them, since apparently reseacrh shows that mature students are there for a valid reason and are less likely to mess around and drop out of classes.

Since you did A-Level Psych, you'll have no problem doing yr 1. Hell, I've never studeied it before and I'm passing, so anyone with previous knowledge has the upper hand from the onset.

And so what if you don't get accepted? What've you got to lose from filling out a form? If you do decide to come here, then you need to start sept 2004, otherwise you'll be4 caught up in all the top-up fee crap that the government is introducing in 2005. So in a way, it's now or never! There's no way normal people will be able to afford uni after 2005 thanks to Tony Blair!

So, for goodness sake, get the forms from http://www.ucas.co.uk
and fill them out asap and send it off. If you don't get in, it's not like it's the end of the world, buit if you do, just think how many doors will be made open to you and the fact I can give you all my textbooks and lecture notes this summer so you can read up on everything!

And my god Elliana, you'd adore it here and living in halls is wicked and the people are so friendly and no-one cares what you wear or what you look like and the counselling, if you feel the need for it, is FREE! So, don't be afrid. Go for it. I did, thanks to you and I'm here, getting my education (even if I'm wasting it) and trying to make a future for myself. I owe me getting to Bangor to you and Faysal and for that I'm grateful. Now it's my turn to tell you to come.

If you like, you can come here for a day or so and come to my lectures (like Emma did and she's applying hjere for a geography major) and see if you like it. We're allowed guests in lectures and security don't care anymore that people stay in eachother's rooms, so really, if you'd like to get a better feel for Bangor life as a student, by all means come here and I'll show you around, and you can talk to the staff or whatever.

If you go to http://www.bangor.ac.uk you can sign up for the peer guiding scheme and e-mail buddies scheme, where you can talk to othger bangor students and ask them questions and stuff. And K. Chitty will e-mail you all the course requirements. Also, a good way to get your foot in the door is to phone the psych department and have a chat with them. Faysal did that for me and made my name known to them and answered all my questions and stuff and they said 'they'd welcome my application' so I think that helped me no-end in getting my place here.

If you'd like any help filling out the personal statement section of the forms, I can send you a copy (I think) of what I wrote. I blabbered on about how much I enjoy books like Prozac Nation and how I read the R.Gross psych book and how psych simply fascinated me. It was all a load of bollocks, but it worked! lol.
