Eden is excellent!!! It's a mix of pop-opera, lullaby-like melodies, and of course, full-out, Viking-style opera! I really liked Erin Brockovich. I found her sassy dialogue delightful (when she asks the PG&E lady if she would like to lose her uterus because of toxins in the water...so great!) and her complete incredulism at the idea of giving up the persuit. However, it was a little odd, I thought, that she was like 110 pounds and completely super model-esque and had a 10-month old baby. I suppose she could have lost all baby weight in 10 months, but in the movie she was constantly busy and I can't imagine her ever having time for exercise...except when she walked places, which always seemed to be in 4-inch heels. Heh. Calendar Girls was good but kind of muddled. It didn't explain a lot of things -- they just sort of happened. Some scenes were cut short or really quiet and hard to understand because of the accent. But otherwise, the women are right delightful and the scenes in which they get naked and pose (with frosted buns and fruit) are hilarious! See it and tell me what you think. I'm crazily into England now. I love the accents, love the British attitude, love the landscape! Steel Magnolias is a tearjerker! I remember watching it when I was younger and not understanding. Mum always called it "The Butt Movie" since I guess it shows some guys' behinds in it. Shelby, the main character, dies of diabetes at the end, doesn't she? Oh my heavens, ballet to rap music! Lordy, I love how you Holtrops are so classical/modern at the same time. You're so...cutting edge!! You're doing a piece to "White America", right? What are the lyrics? I want to seeee youuuurr daaans! It sounds dankly cool. Sweet! You've inspired me to just blurt out whatever channels down from my mind to my pen to paper, so I think I may very well. It's a beautiful Saturday, what else do I have to do? (Um, go to the thrift store and blow all my money away since everything is half off today, yup!) Hehe! Darling -- I completely ignored your birthday, so why shouldn't you do the same? Well, I'm kind of joking -- I'm a Taurus, I love gifts -- but I had the same problem with you. I had these three ideas for you, but none of them worked. But! I'm sending you something for your half birthday -- which is today! Weeeeeh! -- so don't go out and buy anything you might want because the thing I made for you is something that you might get on your own. |
