Re: Re: First one got deleted...
I just wrote in reply to Cait's post about how I'm feeling better these days. *Smile* It's a big relief! A bad mood can really drag you down, and it's hard to climb out of the pit of depression.

Cherie's doing so much better than she was during the fall/winter/spring! She has more energy, doesn't have to spend nearly as much time resting, and doesn't have the migraine headaches, arthritis pain, and chronic fatigue that she used to have. It's really terrific! We're all so happy. She's not fully healthy yet, but it's a big relief to see our loved family member doing so much better. *Bigsmile*

Yeah, I'd like to think that physical appearances don't have anything to do with being elected to office, too! But did you know that statistics show that the taller presidential candidate usually wins?! For anti-Bush people, that's good news these days, since John Kerry is taller than Bush. *Pthb* But it shows that people do look at looks. Sigh. It's fickle, isn't it?

We're taking a day trip down to Indianaoplis -- Indiana's captial city -- this week, to see the art museum and tour the capital building. I'm really looking forward to that. State congress isn't in session right now, but we'll be able to see the whole legislative building, where they pass the state laws and everything. Yay! I've never been there before.

Let me know if you get your hands on any of Georgette Heyer's books. I really enjoyed the two I've read so far, and I'm eager to start another one. I'm so touched that you like the same sort of books that I really like! Umm...for recommended reading, some of my very, very favorite authors are Elizabeth Peters, Dorothy L. Sayers, and Robin McKinley. Peters writes mysteries; my favorites are her Amelia Peabody series, which is about a family of British Egyptologists in the late 1800s. They're really funny mysteries set in Egypt, and the characters are so alive! They jump off the page. The first in the series, which is currently 16 novels long, is Crocodile on the Sandbank. Dorothy L. Sayers wrote murder mysteries in the 1920s and 1930s, mostly set in London; and Robin McKinely writes fantasy. I adore her latest novel, which is a really, really cool story about a woman who sort of inadvertantly befriends a vampire. Its title is Sunshine I never read vampire fiction, but this is a really terrific book! If any of you read it, let me know what you think. *Smile*

I don't usually like to read about war, either, but if you recommend Losing Julia, I'll look for it at the library. What are the rest of you reading these days?
