Not everyone has the perfect little nuclear family that TV shows and movies and stuff seem to pretend we're supposed to have. My family is anti-cultural; we like to live together and spend most of our time together, and we get flack about that from people, like Steve's co-workers who are always bugging me about when Rachel and I are going to move out and "get real lives"! It drives me crazy. I don't think I've ever met a family who really did follow the pattern where the mom was there to have heart-to-hearts with the daughters, the dad was there to teach the sons to play sports, the kids all happily went to college/uni at the "right" ages, the kids all got jobs and got married and produced grandkids, the parents never fought.... It just doesn't exist as far as I know!
