How do you indicate that the fight is over? Who makes the first move? For a newsletter.
This is a question for anyone,
but especially, someone in a romantic relationship.

So you've had a fight, and you want to make up.

What happens?
Who says what to whom? Who responds how?

This: I would say 99% of the time, the silent treatment is involved when there's a fight. If it's between a grown-up and a child, the adult is always right. Even if they're not. That's just how it is in our culture. So the child (or younger one) will (pt 1)

This: pt2 have to meekly/humbly approach the adult and ask forgiveness at least a couple times before pardon is given. However, if it's between adults, there's still usually the silent treatment, but after the silent spell is some telling-off, and then profuse

This: apologies ensue after, during, or both after and during the telling-off. Depending on the severity of the "crime", it can take anywhere from 10 minutes to a few hours before fights are fully resolved. If it's the latter, it's best to leave the mad party

This: occasion that it does, usually the adults will be back to cracking jokes or laughing at the other's expense within minutes, and it's as if the fight never happened. (the end)

This: The fight is never over. It's like a flame that sometimes flickers and sometimes roars. For a good relationship, it has to merely flicker most of the time. If it does roar, then often a period of sleeping will return it to a flicker.

This: I try to let him know that I'm mad and the causes why I'm mad and the problem why there's a fight, then I or most often we both preferred to be in silence, or leave him or not talk to him for a while.
