Michelin rated food stalls dot the sidewalk and crowd the street from the moment you round the corner. Multitudes of national and ethnic origins vie for the flavors and for photographic evidence in equal proportions. My arm is nearly taken off by a piece of traffic exiting the travel lane and entering the parking lane already encumbered with pedestrians, partakers and passer-bys. Most of the flavors entering my nostrils are Chinese, but there's something else intertwined. Music from down the block blows in and crashes against a wall of conversation, venders calling, and the blaring call of small vehicles ripping back into traffic with new clusters of passengers. March may not be the busiest time to visit Bangkok, but I would argue that it's the best, for this is about as many people as I can stand. Mouth-watering anticipation comes to a head as my order is called. Mmm.... meat.
