Gloria sighed, the cruel game that she had been forced into was not what she was expecting. Down on her luck with a multi-million dollar lawsuit looming over her, winning a big prize and making a break for it had been her only option. She tapped her foot on the ground impatiently, fully aware that she was being monitored. Was there even an audience or was it all a swarm of cameras watching her every move? She felt slightly out of her element dressed in her shirt and shorts - but this was for the prize, not walking down a catwalk.
The sign made it pretty clear that she wasn't meant to step forward, and she could picture some sort of punishment or consequence for such a blatant act of defiance. "Not for me, I've broken the rules enough times." she muttered, her eyes scanning the sign's warning repeatedly. Instead, she turned to the path ahead, which was the most obvious option.
Gloria stepped forward cautiously, following the leafy corridor as she left the sign behind. There was enough room either side of her to let another person past, but there was definitely a sense of entrapment that she got from the maze. There was no announcer or commentator to speak about her choice, or at least there didn't appear to be. Perhaps there would be more difficult puzzles to face later down the line? Gloria let out a sigh of relief, confident in her choice.
However, a faint but sharp aroma tickled her nostrils. A hazy gas was starting to gather around Gloria's feet, slowly diffusing into the air around her. She let out a gentle cough, becoming aware of the smell... and starting to suspect things weren't as straight forward as she thought.
