Oh granted, this is where her parents and friends will expect you to go, and they will come after her and you, but they will be far too late to save her from whatever revenge you care to exact from her. Even if you are very careful, she has very little chance of lasting that long. And you will likely be careless.
As you fly on, the ground rolls away far below and you laugh over the foolish princess' 3 fatal mistakes.
She had insisted on a big wild gryphon instead of one of the tame ones that had been bred in captivity. That is a mistake you can forgive her for. After all, she was able to see how superior you are. Not that this was hard. Domestic gryphons are just wimps.
Then she had refused to listen to her instructor in how to fly you. That is not forgiven. True, her folly was necessary to your escape. An experienced rider could give you such pain that doing as told is the only choice. She simply doesn't know how to control you. That is fine, but her inexperience has caused you many a grief as she tortured you by accident. Well, you will be doing the torture now...
And now she has made the final mistake of flying alone with you, putting herself at your very limited mercy. Prideful princess, she must be regretting ignoring the advice and orders of her seniors.
If you were somehow feeling kind-hearted, you might feel she was the innocent victim of her parents' love. They had simply never had the will to discipline her properly. You have seen the same with gryphon chicks. The one most deeply loved is "spared" the harsh lessons of how to deal with life, and as a result is spared the burden of a long life. Soon enough the princess is going to discover how much better off she would be if her parents had applied a strap a few times.
But now the mountains are coming into view and the princess realizes that she is indeed lost if you enter them. She desperately tries to get you to turn and do as told.
