Smiling, Minoru stepped back to look at his invention. Three weeks and several thousand dollars were an insignifcant price to something that would change technological and scientific fields forever.
"But all I need now is someone dumb enough to lend me a persecom to test it on..."
30 minutes later
"What did you want to see me about?" asked Hideki as he just entered Minoru's spacious mansion. In the middle of studying for a rather important exam, the call from Minoru came across as extremely sudden. Nevertheless, he, along with his faithful Persecom companion Chii came over as soon as they could.
"Well, it's actually about something I've been working on. It's designed to increase the memory and other program drives of a persecom by phyiscally enlarging them.
"Sounds complicated."
"It's not. The normal mechanisms have all be compacted into a simple ray. I shoot the persecom, and the upgrade is complete."
From behind Hideki, Chii looked straight at the young scientist. "Minoru...shoot...Chii?"
"It's harmless. Just stand over there."
Initially reluctant to do so, Chii finally walked over when Hideki nodded approvingly. Standing in the space she was instructed to go to, Chii suddenly felt a bizzare white beam hit her.
"You sure that's safe?" asked Hideki.
"Perfectly," replied Minoru as he began looking over some of the blueprints to his design Chii, how do you feel?"
"Chii not feel too different, but..."
"Yes?"
"Why Minoru look small?"
"Good!" nodded Minoru approvingly, not bothering to look. "You've developed humor."
Turning around, Minoru noticed that the machine hadn't done anything to the internal mechanisms, but Chii herself had been getting larger. He also noticed Hideki was too shocked to say anything.
"You idiot!" shouted Minoru, unsure of what to do. "She's going to outgrow the house!"
Finally, Hideki replied. "This is your fault, remember?"
