“What the hell happened to you two?” Jim asked his grimy two comrades as they trampled in covered in what looked like red jell-O. Aisha looked pretty embarrassed, but she managed to start talking after wiping a big handful of the stuff off her face.
“Funny story really, I was hired to look after some experimental slime called ‘Moma-K.Y.ten’. It seemed like an easy score so I asked Melfina to tag along so I could better use my talents on other matters,” Aisha was trying to be coy, so Melfina filled Jim in on what she really meant.
“Aisha wanted me to watch the experiment while she slept. That way she could slack off and if anything did happen I would wake her up.” Aisha glared at Melfina; telling Jim that she was lazy was not making her very happy about this already miserable situation.
“Anyway, I was ‘meditating’ and Melfina wakes me up because she saw movement where the experiment was, so we went to check it out. When we got there and all we found was an escaped lab rat, which by the way was delicious,” Aisha smiled and Jim felt a little pale.
“After my snack, I was looking around the lab one more time when the experiment mysteriously exploded and sprayed me and Melfina from head to toe.” Again, Jim felt that Aisha was being less then truthful.
“That’s not what happened. You tripped over a stool and knocked the experiment all over both of us. Then so we wouldn’t get blamed you made me run all the way here with you while covered in this slime.” Melfina was normally a sweet and loving woman, but being slimed and running home still covered with said slime had made her a little ticked off.
“What does the experiment do?” Jim asked as he scooped up a bit of the stuff, it felt slick and cold in his hand.
“We didn’t ask because someone knocked the whole thing all over me before we could inquire.” Aisha blushed so brightly that it even showed through her fur. Getting chewed out by Melfina was not a fun experience.
“Now Melfina I think your being a little harsh on Aisha,” Jim spoke out. Aisha blinked at the comment and smiled, she could always find assistance in the Outlaw Stars most mature and youngest member.
“Aisha is used to moving around open spaces, so it’s easy to understand how she could be so accident prone in an enclosed area,” Jim explained rationally, getting a nod from both girls.
“And Aisha, you should apologize to Melfina for your accident. It wasn’t your fault, but an apology would definitely make Melfina feel better.” Aisha nodded and looked at the bio-android with remorse.
“I’m sorry for getting you mixed up in this,” I just wanted some company on this job,
Aisha said sadly. Both Jim and Melfina’s hearts went out to Aisha when they realized the same thing; Aisha is light years away from home and hasn’t seen another Ctarl-Ctarl for months. Jim stepped towards his comrade and friend, and then seized her in a big hug. Since Jim was only a kid, he was really just hugging her waist.
“You may not have any of your family here, but you have us and I like to think of you as family.” Jim said sweetly. Aisha felt joy fill her soul; this day had started so rottenly, why were things turning so good all of a sudden? Jim released his hold and looked up at Aisha happily.
“I got to take care of some paper work. Gene and Suzuka are going to be gone all day. Lets not tell them about this shall we, Gene would just be upset about Aisha losing the money she could have made.” Jim walked into the back of Starwind and Hawking Enterprises, leaving the two females to think.
“I wish he really was family, he’d make a great little brother,” Aisha said as she sat down on the couch. It was going to take her forever to get this stuff out of her fur. Melfina sat down beside her and relaxed as well.
“Or even better, imagine him as a son,” Melfina giggled and imagined holding a baby Jim to her breast. Aisha smiled too, for Jim she’d even go through a forty eight hour labor, just to see his face. As they thought this, the substance that the doctors called Moma-K.Y.ten began to take effect changing the girls DNA structure.
