Amelia stood there, shocked. The little blue dragon appeared quite shocked as well. Amelia guessed that last time he came here, the rather large dragon in front of them had not been there.
Amelia tore her eyes off of the dragon for a bit to survey her surroundings. The nest looked new, some of the plants used to construct it were still green. Although it was kind of hard for her to tell, with the green light coming from the fungus on the walls. But one thing caught her eye... it was sunlight. They were close to the exit of the cave.
A low growl drew her attention to the problem at hand. If they wished to get to the exit, they had to get past the dragon guarding it. And he doesn't look too happy to have had his nap interrupted.
"I'm sorry..." She began, "We were running from another dragon, and we thought this cave was empty." She was about to say more, but an impatient clicking of teeth silenced her. The dragon moved it's head closer to the girl, sniffing her.
Amelia thought she was done for, but the little blue dragon she had befriended stepped into the conversation. It looked the big red dragon in the eyes, and started making noises. To Amelia's ears, nothing was understandable, asides from the tone the dragon had, which was an apologetic one.
To the dragon's ears, it sounded something like this... "Sorry to disturb your rest, but like the girl said, we were being chased by a rather large red dragon who wished to make a meal of the both of us." The large dragon growled, causing Amelia to panic slightly, but a sound which comforted the little blue dragon.
"Describe him for me? I think I may know who you're talking about... if that's him, then I'll let you go. He doesn't know about the back way out of this cave, and he'll wait at the entrance for a day or so for you two. I don't like him much, he's the one who gave me this." The dragon pointed to a scar on his shoulder, only recently healed. "So if it's him, I'll let you go for informing me as to where he is. I've been looking for him to, ah, return the favor, or so to speak."
The little blue dragon began to speak again, but the larger dragon cut him off. "Enough! The dragon you are describing..."
