You look down at the watch on your left wrist casually, trying not to look like someone trying to decide whether to touch the thing or rip it off and throw it away. You're standing at a gate at the airport, waiting for a flight to Miami. You don't have a ticket.
You're at the gate because of the watch, which isn't a watch at all, but a size displacer. You've been helping Professor Martin with it this year--your junior year, to be specific. He left for spring break two days ago, and that's when you realized that rather than heading back to your hometown for a dull break, you could use this to fly your way down for a free vacation.
But having used it once to get through security, now you're not so sure. You flip idly through the sizes and options, wondering whether to go through with it.
"We'll be boarding flight 409 to Miami shortly," comes the voice of a stewardess, and you decide to go through with it. What the heck, you made it this far, right? Now all you have to do is decide who to sneak onto the plane with--without getting noticed.
You could shrink yourself to three inches tall, and sneak into the briefcase of a distracted businesswoman, you think. She's so distracted with her blackberry that she'll never notice.
Then again, you could go a bit smaller and sneak on with the family--mom, dad, bored-looking teenage girl, hyperactive boy, young girl. The teenager's purse is laying open and you could go for that.
Or if you really wanted to be daring, you could go really small and hitch a ride on one of four pairs of flip-flops belonging to four gorgeous coeds.
