Jessica screamed, pulled her arm free of the man's grasp and ran. She had no idea which was the best way to turn, so she took the first right , then darted across the street. It was still early morning and none of the shops and boutiques were open yet. She was also frustrated at the apparent lack of a police presence. The only person on the street with her was the stranger, following a fair distance behind. His age kept him from gaining on her, but he seemed determined to continue his pursuit.
Jessica came to another corner and raced around it. She was surprised and very thankful to see a small park halfway down the block. Maybe she could lose her pursuer in amongst the trees?
