Does Mickey simply board the plane?

“Now boarding First Class passengers for United Airlines flight number 93 to Nassau”

Mickey took a long drag on his cigarette as he looked at his boarding ticket, the glowing ember eating away swiftly at the paper. He looked up into Kanya’s eyes. His steely blue stare made her feel uneasy but also strangely excited. There was something different about this man. The way he had approached her was brazen and the job offer unexpected, but now he was quiet, almost moody. Kanya waited, expectantly.
The cigarette hissed slightly as Mickey ground it under his fine leather boot, his eyes never leaving Kanya’s. Then as he spun on his heel he winked at Kanya and paced towards the gate.
“Wait”, Kanya shouted “What about the job?”
Mickey stopped and without turning said “Forget the job, it was shit anyway”.
He dug his hand deep into his pocket, and in one fluid movement he flicked an object over his shoulder. Instinctively, Kanya caught it as he walked with purpose through the gate and down the walkway.
Kanya stared after him, confused. He was a strange man. She looked down at the object he had nonchalantly tossed in her direction to find it was a key. It was an airport locker key, number 101.
