"Now, either of you want to try some bunt cake?" Elly's mother wondered
Being polite, both agreed and cut a slice that was manageble. Just when the girls were going to touch their cake... "Oh those pieces are so small for growing girls, here let me." Taking out a steak-knife sized butter knife, she cut massive pieces driping with fudge, vanilla icing and sprinkles out of the tin.
Accepting the pieces, the girls try to plow through them as fast as possible to sneak out of the room.
"Let's hurry up Shelly, while her backs facing us." Trying to be quiet, they finish in less than 3 minutes and stand to walk out. Turning towards the door Shelly snags her foot on her chair and bangs it against the floor.
Turning around, "sit down girls, there's plenty more." Taking their plates and setting a sampling of candy on each.
(whispering) "Well this can't be bad, I never say no to candy," said Shelly, eating it slowly to savor it.
"We still need to get out of here Shel, this situation has NEVER ended well." Elizebeth protested, shoveling off to the living room just a moment's walk away while her mother wasn't looking.
"Where did Elly go Shel?"..."She just went to the bathroom, she'll be back in a few."
(to herself) "I can't believe she left me here with her mother, why didn't she grab me while moving."
Elizebeth's mom quickly unvailed a dish of m&m topped chocolate chip muffins to Shelly from a dazzingly red plate.
"Mrs. Konle, those look delicious, may I?"
Mrs. Konle said approvingly, "Why certainly Shelly, I need a taste tester anyway."
For the next hour as Elizebeth was trying to call Alison back to get a ride over there as to hastely escape her mother, Shelly was fed round after round of everything from chocolate upsidedown cake to ravioli with extra meatballs to fully dressed caesar salad/s. In worry, Elizebeth finally walked back in to find her friend.
