"Stay calm Tom," he spoke to himself, trying to shake his fears, "Like dad said, when he's not around, you're the man of the house." Suddenly, Tommy felt himself grow into the shape of an adult. "Okay," he said, "I really got to be careful with my words." But then his sister appeared behind him. She gave a loud neigh and was about to attack him. He looked behind him and moved quickly. "Let me try this," Tommy thought.
"You're like a female Mr. Ed!" Tommy yelled.

"What did you say?" came his sister's voice out of the mare. "Wait, did I just say something you can understand?"

"Yes," Tommy said.

"Okay, now what happened?" Ann, the sister asked.
