The Truth Hurts

Nora tried to explain Casey's situation to Marti,
"You see Marti, sometimes people get bigger or smaller in funny ways, especially teenagers-"
"Mom please, you don't need to do this...I'm fine. There's nothing different," protested Casey, trying to convince herself. Derek regaining composure, set down his napkin.
"Well Casey, you have to admit," he said looking her up and down, "That there has been more of you lately."
"Derek," Sighed his Father, at a loss for words. Such topics made George very uncomfortable.
"Dad, she has to hear it sooner or later. I'm doing you a favour Casey, you don't want to end up like Kirstie Ally," He said chomping down on a drumstick.
"Fine. Thank you, everyone you made my day."
