Jason considers the three prime categories for revenge - the skinny snobs, the booze hounds and the jocks. He decides to start with one of the trim, snobbish party animals.
Jason chuckled. He loved the irony of what was about to come. He would make a guy who had been so proud of his skinny body into someone fat enough that he’ll be afraid to show it in public. It seemed like the scrawny snobs were always trying to be ‘helpful’, suggesting ways he could exercise more or cut back on his food - but when they were drunk on Friday night they laughed and cheered just as loudly at his forced stuffings as the rest!
Oh, sweet revenge! He knew the snobs really only pitied him. The definition of "sympathy" is radically different from that of "pity". These boys, Jason decided, needed to learn that lesson a lot better than they ever would in English class.
Sympathy - noun - the sharing of feelings, understanding how someone else feels. Well, they'd be sharing his feelings before long, Jason reflected with a bitter half-smile. Pretty soon, they'd probably beg him to have pity on them. Pity! Something he had often received but never given. After all, who could be more miserable than he, the ‘fat brother’? Perhaps the ‘fat ex-skinny’?
