Greg answered his phone and heard his Boss' voice.
"Hey Greg I got a phone call from a friend in the television business. He's looking for volunteer's for this new reality TV show and I thought of you. You and your family go on a three month diet. The catch is no excercise and you can only eat fast food. The idea is to see what effects poor eating habits and no excercise have on people. I think its a good way for you to earn a little extra cash. What do ya say?"
Greg barely hesitated.
"Sounds great!"
"Thats great Greg. I'll set everything up. You can have the rest of the day off so you can prepare your family."
No sooner had the boss said that then Greg was out the door.
He quickly ran home and went to tell the first person there the good news.
Greg walked into the house and saw Lucy sitting on the couch nibbling on a carrot stick.
"Lucy, I've got wonderful news. We're gonna be on TV!"
"That's awesome!" shouted Lucy, jumping from the couch.
"And when we finish we get 50,000 dollars!"
"Sweet!"
"And all you have to do is eat the food the show provides and not excercise for three months."
Lucy stopped her jumping.
"But Dad.... I can't do that. I'll get fat."
"Well I think thats the idea sweetie. The object of the show is to show what bad eating habits can do to people."
"But Daaaaad..." whined Lucy.
"No buts young lady. I've already signed the contract and called your mom. We're doing this. So if you ever want to leave this house again you will do as you are told." Greg's voice changed to a harsher tone.
"But Dad if I'm fat I won't have friends."
"O Lucy your true friends wouldn't make fun of you. No matter what size you are. And I'm sure you'll make plenty of new friends. Plus I think you'll learn some important lessons. You'll learn to enjoy yourself, and perhaps you'll learn what its like to be like those you've made fun of so much."
This part cut into Lucy the deepest. How could she live like the people she made fun of on a daily bases?
