Marcie Hampton the neighbor walked over to Susan and Mary’s table.
“Oh hi Marcie.” Susan said.
“Hello Susan, and hello Mary. I can see your eating for three.” Marcie said, Marcie and Susan didn’t really get along that well. Marcie had a daughter as well, Christy, but she was about 11 or 12. However Marcie and Susan’s had slightly different parenting approaches.
In short, Marcie didn’t approve of the way Susan let her children eat, and she was constantly making rude remarks.
“Oh thank you Marcie, I hear your divorce papers are pending, congratulations” Susan retorted.
“Oh, thank you Susan but you need not worry about me. I can already see you have enough on your plate.” Marcie said, glaring at Mary as she was eating the Whopper.
“So Marcie, how did Christie do in her gymnastic tournament?” Susan asked.
“Oh she came in 1st place!” Marcie smiled. “I didn’t see Mary there though, was she sick?”
“No, Mary had to drop out of gymnastics, the uniforms weren’t in her size.” Susan said, she looked at Mary chewing down on some chicken nuggets and she smiled.
“Mommy, chicken mmmm.” Mary happily said.
“Oh what a shame.” Marcie said sarcastically. “I always enjoyed watching Mary do her summersaults. Oh wait, that was my daughter. How silly of me!” Marcie chuckled.
“Mommy, more Mommy.” Mary said as she finished the Whopper.
