stealth escape and unwanted encounter.

The plan was the following. Gale had to exit the castle with Kendall in her bag and pass the guards.
She also had no right to talk to anyone about what she was asked to do.
To be sure she would not get orders from anyone. she had to take the less crowed itinary.
She walked through the dark rooms crossing guards in dark armors. From the bag, the little man could hear some of them laughing or fighting like drunk people in a pub. The witch did her best to avoid those, from the prisoner’s order but also because she didn’t want those pigs to waste her time with their dirty jokes, mostly under the effect of slavery.

She passed by a dark, long and empty corridor. The only light came from weak candles hanging on the walls. Kendal could notice two doors at the end.
“Take the door to the nearest exit unless the place isreally crowded! Then, you run to the exit before any one reacts.” was ordered the witch.
She took the door leading downstair but the other one opened and someone came in. it was a teen with a long raven hair forming a tail attached with a green ribbon. Her green dress was covered with little emeralds on the arms. She was followed by three tall and slim figures. 3 ladies of 7 feets high, dressed in long capes hiding their hear. One dressed in green, another in red and the last one in blue. The 3 of them had their eyes and nose covered by white crow mask. Only the unexpressive mouths were visible on the pale faces.

The tiny girl smiled at Gale, her black eyes wide open, and greeted her.
“Miss Gale, what an honor to see you here. What matter does bring you in this area of the castle?”
“Princess Eleanor. The honor is mine! I have some business to attempt … somewhere in the forest.” Responded the witch bowing to her.
Kendhall wasn’t reassured by this encounter. He never saw the princess before but heard some nasty rumor about her. She had the reputation of being quite nosy and talkative about everything happening in the kingdom. Yet, people mostly remembered her as a sharp mind with no mean of defense. He would have ordered the witch to knock down if it wasn’t for the 3 figures behind her…
Those were known as the Crown princess’s servants, but there were more her bodyguards and the one doing her dirty work. He once heard that the red one cut a bear in half with some sharp and long metallic nails.

“You’re heading to the forest? Why did you not take the main entrance? It would be a much faster path.”
She didn’t know what to respond since the itinerary was clearly not the best.
“Forgive me your grace, but I have no right to tell you. If I had the possibility to, I would have accepted you help. Just know that I have my reasons to not use the main entrance” Gale could only find that pity excuse, struggling to hide her anxiety.
The smile disappeared to let the worry show on the girl’s face.
“Is everything alright, I may give you a hand if you need.”
“If I had the possibility to, I would have happily accepted you help.”
“Secrets with Mother, I guess. Sometimes, I wish she had more faith in me.” wondered the princess annoyed
“I can tell you the queen has nothing to do with this. I’m sorry, but I shall take my leaves for now. We’ll have time for a chit chat once my work is finished. But right now, I’m in a hurry.”
Gale couldn’t tale she was at the mercy of her slave, not that she wouldn’t want her to know. But she was reassured to see the young girl noticed something she was hiding something.
“You may go. I’m looking forward for some time with you at your return.”
As Gale went down the stairs, the princess waited a little to address her servants.
“Something is off … Gale would never keep a secret if it wasn’t for my mother. Beldo, I need you to follow her from afar! If she has any troubles, help her as you can! Vedra, you will investigate the main hall! If someone is blackmailing the witch, bring the fool to me! Ragwin, we are going to pay a visit to Ena. I want to be informed if she’s causing any troubles to her colleague.”
Thus, the blue servant took the stairs following the witch, the green one moved on her way to the main hall, and the red one followed her mistress to the lab.

Down the stairs, Kendall made sure no one was around them and then gave another order to Gale.
“Answer me honestly. What me all the other ways out.”
“No …” responded the witch reluctantly. “There is a village nearby. From the roof, there is a dragon I can ride. And from the sewers, there is a waterfall leading to the swamp below the cliff of the castle.”
The imp hesitated a little. The village was out of options since he needed the witch after his escape. Letting only the roof and the sewers.
He decided to escape by ...
