Part of you urges you to dive out of sight, but stubborn fantasy glues your feet in place. You stare, all but helpless as Mina turns her eyes towards you. Her face lights up with delight and she makes her way over. Without a care for your safety she scoops you up and holds you in front of her.
"Hey there, sis." She licked her lips with a longing far beyond her age. "I'm glad you didn't wander too far away."
You swallow. Suddenly it's dawning on you just what kind of situation you've put yourself in. "D--did you do this to me?" you manage to ask.
Mina cocked her head and grinned. "Sort of," she shrugged. "I just slipped you the potion. Mum's the one that made it."
You shake your head disbelievingly. You've heard that one too many times before to believe it now. But then again, you think, you can hardly imagine how Mina could have managed this by herself.
That said, your mother hardly seemed like any more likely a suspect.
Reaching into her pocket, she emerged with a packet of ketchup. Memories of your sister smothering you in the stuff fills your head. Your face twists; a smile begins to creep over your face, but you quickly drive it away.
"You dirty little bitch." Not quickly enough. All but two fingers fall away as she dangles you above her lips. "You always told me it was bad to lie, so now I'll tell you the same thing."
"I haven't told any lies," you counter.
"But I'm sure you're going to." She throws open her mouth as wide as she possibly can, her uvula dancing tantalizingly at the back of her crimson throat. She licks her lips again and bares her perfect white teeth, bringing you down until you can smell peanut butter on her breath... "You want me to drop you in here and chew you up, don't you?"
