Chapter #6

Ask her out on a date

by: Spaghetti Westerner Author IconMail Icon
I plucked up my courage and as we were leaving, I said, "Hey, uh, do you maybe want to go get something to eat?"

Izzy, slinging her bag over her shoulder, looked back at me with a smile. "I mean, I did spend most of the afternoon snacking. But sure!" We walked out of the bakery together and down the street to the diner.

"So, what's it like working for your sister?" I asked as we entered, and sat down in a booth by the window.

Izzy made a face. "She's always telling me what to do, only difference is that at work I have to obey her. Older siblings just think they run your life, you know?"

"Actually, I don't," I said. "I'm an only child."

"You're SO lucky," said Izzy, looking idly at her menu. "I bet your parents are always on your case about stuff though, huh?"

"No, they travel a lot, especially lately, so I kind of just do my own thing."

Izzy's mouth fell open. "Okay, I officially hate you," she smiled. "You have no idea what it's like having to deal with their shit. Hmm," she said, looking at the menu. "What are you gonna have?"

"The bacon cheeseburger, I think," I said. "I've never been here before, have you?"

"No, I don't eat out that much," she said. "Apart from at the bakery, I'm not a big eater. But I'm not like a diet freak or whatever, it's just habit. I don't know why I'm still so thin. You've seen my sister, way curvier than me. And she exercises, too. Our parents are kind of strict about that stuff, they're always talking about health and fitness and shit. That's why it would be so sweet if I just got, like, huge. With a belly out here" – she gestured with her hands a foot and a half in front of her actual stomach – "and an ass that's wider than a chair... they'd freak! But I never exercise and I still look like this."

"Maybe you need an anti-diet," I joked. "Like, people set themselves a calorie limit? You set yourself a calorie goal, go over it every day."

"That's not a bad idea," Izzy mused. "Wanna help?"

"Wait, you're serious?" I asked.

"Oh, totally," said Izzy. "I told you, I want to get back at them, this is the perfect way. Come on, don't you think it'd be fun?"

I looked at Izzy's slim body and contemplated how it would look with the addition of her sister's extra pounds – and maybe a few more. Maybe a LOT more...
