"Yes, Momma" The young dragon says with a twinkle in his eye, "told me to ask first and that's what I did." The dragon takes a step forward and you take a step back. "Did I do good?" He asks. Startled, and unsure of what to say, you can only nod your head slowly, softly. The dragon laughs and you watch it flap its wings slowly up and down.
Looking closely at the wings you notice they are nearly twice that of the dragon's length. "How... I mean, can you fly?" You ask.
The dragon's playful look dies as you ask him this. "No, I'm not old enough to fly. I need to be stronger." He looks back at you again. "Mother told me that tomorrow I may be able to fly!" He says happily. You can't help but feel sorry for this poor creature knowing that if the soldiers had their way, the dragon will never see tomorrow.
'I've got to stop them.' You think to yourself. 'It's not right to harm anyone this young, no child deserves this... the dragons don't deserve this.' Your thoughts go back to your hometown and your family, then to your friend Felix who also was drafted into this hellish army. 'I hope everyone is alright.'
