Chapter #5

Go for a moderate growth plan to get to your in...

You think to yourself that you have time to win the girl over of your dreams, but time to get started.

You know at your height you want to gain about thirty pounds this year and get to about 210 lbs by the start of summer, which is about 3.1 lbs a month, which is reasonable on a guy of your height and stature if you had just started working out. However, you know you have been working out for about two years so the easy growth has already tapered out to some degree. At best you probably could put on 15 lbs., so you are doubling your growth rate.

One of the controls on the remote states, “Growth rate,” and another indicates “balance.” You quickly determine that you can set a time for growth and not muck around with the details by getting a balanced built, a disproportional upper body, or lower body. You know for a fact that freak imbalance is not naturally appealing, so you go for the balanced frame for your body. You then indicate over nine months you want to put on thirty pounds, and hit the start button.

Of course, nothing happens right away, but you want to go to the gym to try out your new growth routine. You get to the gym right away to try out your new growth routine on the weights to see if you can see a difference. At the gym, you do as you always do and start off with incline bench press. You warm up with 135 lbs. for ten reps, something you know you can do normally. You do it with no problem. Then you go to 155 lbs. which you normally do for eight reps. Today you get in ten reps with a little effort. Then you go to 175 lbs. where you usually max out at six reps. Today is different, you force out eight and get a ninth with a little help from a guy spotting you. Then you go to 195 lbs. which normally you cannot lift and get a solid six reps unassisted. Cool! You feel the pump in your chest and arms and cannot wait to continue to work out.

On to flat bench presses, and today you max out at 245 lbs. for six reps, again about twenty lbs. more than usual. Again you feel the pump in your arms and chest. The rest of your workout goes as well. Incline dumbbell press, dumbbell flys, lat parallel rows, front rows, barbell curls, dumbbell curls, and preacher curls and get similar increases in weight across the board. On the scale at the gym you see you have gained a total of two lbs, and now weight 182. You flex your chest and arms in the locker room when no one is looking and they look about the same. Well, you are just starting out so you should not see much.

You go home and eat a big meal to fuel growth. You reason that although the remote will help, you need to do the things that guys do to gain size and strength to make this real. Fortunately, with the intense workout you had you have the appetite to make this work. Then you go to sleep after a normal evening and get up the next morning, Monday, to go to school.

At school the day passes normally. You see Lexi in the hallway but don’t have the guts to say hello – at least not yet. You want to get her attention with your body anyway. However, just seeing her makes you want to grow faster even though you have to use the self control not to grow any faster.

In this manner you go through the school year. On Monday’s you work out legs and midsection with Squats (maxing at 315 lbs for six reps at the start), leg press, leg extension, leg curls, calve raises, and weighted sit-ups. On Wednesday it is time for shoulders, a little back, and triceps and you do sets of Behind Neck Presses, DB behind Neck Presses, Bent over Rows, DB Bent over rows, One arm triceps press, and Triceps extensions. On Friday you work out back and Trapezoids, doing deadlifts, lat pulldowns, pullups, shoulder shrugs, DB shoulder shrugs, and wrist curls. On Saturday you start over again, doing Sunday’s workout and on Sunday, Monday’s workout. This way you work out a couple of body parts twice a week and most parts once a week. Again, this is to not raise suspicion as you do not want anyone thing you are doing anything illegal. More workouts then that and someone could think you are on something (which you are, but not illegally!)

To you delight, the plan works like a charm and within six months you have gained nearly 19 lbs. of muscle on your body. At 200 lbs. you are starting to get something of the build you have always desired. You have put on a little over one inch on your arms, a couple of inches on your chest, you waist has gone in one inch, and your legs have grown an inch and a half. Your measurements are now about a 32 inch waist, 26 inch thighs, 17 inch calves, 46 inch chest, 17 inch arms – a balanced body as you desired. Not huge yet, but definitely building your body.

Best of all, Lexi is starting to notice you in the hallway in school. She has not said anything to you yet, but she definitely has been checking you out. Now you are tempted to accelerate growth, what to do?

You have the following choices:

1. Keep with the plan

*Noteb*
2. Accelerate the growth plan

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
