Waters

The worms flourished in the wet body of humans because of just that, the water. With extra water, they would divide and grow rapidly, when that water was drained from the body, or was no longer available, the higher production of worms within Moe's body would starve, forcing them to eat the body.

The worms need You, and would never kill you. This just means that when you come in contact with water, you grow. (The moisture in the air isn't enough to cause enough of a difference.) When you don't have water for a long period of time, you slowly shrinks back to your normal size.

And so...you wake up the next day...
