You finally make it to the small convenience store, where there is a long, wide awning hanging right over the entire front of the store, shielding the front entrance from the rain. Another man, who looks like he's in his fifties, is already standing under the awning as you arrive, soaking wet while holding your notebook over your head.
"Wow! I made it!" you say, as you stand next to him.
"Yeah... They said on the radio that a Tropical storm was gonna pass over out city today..." the man said.
You look down at your clothes and your jeans. You look and feel wet. However, you notice that your jeans already start to dry up.
When you look over, you notice that you just slightly taller than the old man, who is standing right next to you.
"I guess that means we'll be in for a lot of rain today..." you grumble.
"You got that right, my boy!" the old man replies. "This is hurricane season, and we can just count our blessings that this is nothing more than just a little tropical storm. If this had been a hurricane, then we would have those wicked winds to deal with on top of all the hard rain, and then things would have gotten really nasty..."
In the meantime, you feel your jeans completely drying up while you start to grow taller! As you look over, you notice that you suddenly appear to be at least three inches taller than the old man!
"Yeah... I see your point..." you say to him.
Your shirt completely dries up as well, and within moments, you're bone dry. The old man turns and gasps as he stares at you.
"Hey! You were completely soaked a moment ago, and now you're completely dry!" he says.
"Uhh... Yeah...."
"And you're like a lot taller than me! How's that possible?"
"I... Uhh... Well I was always taller than you, Mister!"
"Are you sure? I could have sworn that you were shorter than this, a few minutes ago!"
"Sorry..." you say, as you turn around and walk into the store.
